Things Needed For This Tutorial
  • Paint Shop Pro (This is done using 9), but should be able to be done in newer versions.
  • A graphic of your choice that needs to be wider then tall.
  • A Font of your Choice....
  • Plug-in needed: VM Natural....found Here
  • Any other tubes or brushes you would like to use to dress up your Letter.

Let's get started.....
1.  Open graphic in PSP.  Edit/Copy
Open a new raster image 300 X 220
Edit/Paste as a new layer.  Image/Resize (Down) at the percent of your choice.  Make sure you do not have. Resize all layers checked. Once you have got the desired amount of your image showing, remember to sharpen your graphic if needed too.
Layers/Merge/Merge All Flatten
2.  In your Materials Palette...Set your Foreground color to Black.  Set your Background color to a Medium color from your graphic.
3.  Image/Add Borders...and Add a 1 pixel border in black.Image/Add Borders...and Add a 5 pixel border using your Medium color.  To do this, Right click on the color box.  Select your Background color.
Image/Add Borders...and Add a 1 pixel border in black.
4.  Select your magic wand tool ( default Settings ).  Click inside your 5 pixel border.
5. Effects/3D Effects/ Inner Bevel with the following settings...

Select None... 
6.  Image/Add Borders...and Add a 20 pixel border in white.  Select your magic wand tool ( default Settings ).  Select your white border.
Edit/Paste/Paste into Selection...Your graphic should still be in your clipboard, but if it isn't bring it back up the copy and go to Edit/Copy (you can minimize it again).
7.  Adjust/Blur/Gaussian Blur at 20...
Effects/Plug-ins/VM Natural - Starmaker...with the following settings:...

8.  Effects/Plug-ins/VM Natural - Stardust...with the following settings:

Note: Amount settings....can be changed between 115 & 117
Effects/3D Effects/Inner Bevel with the same settings.
Select None
9.  Image/Add Borders...and Add a 1 pixel border in black.  Image/Add Borders...and Add a 5 pixel border using your Medium color.  Image/Add Borders...and
Add a 1 pixel border in black.
10. Select your magic wand tool ( default Settings ).  Click inside your 5 pixel border.
Effects/3D Effects/Inner Bevel with the same settings.
Select None
Layers/Promote Background Layer...Image/Canvas Size with the following settings...

11.  Add a new Raster Layer...Selections/Select all  Edit/Paste/Paste into Selection...Your graphic should still be in your clipboard, but if it isn't bring it back up the copy and go to Edit/Copy (you can minimize it again).
      
Selections/Select None...Adjust/Blur/Gaussian Blur at 20...
12.  Effects/Plug-ins/VM Natural - Ripper...with the following settings...

13.  Effects/Plug-ins/VM Natural - Speed...with the following settings...

14.  Selections/Select All....Selections/Modify/Contract by 35...Selections/Invert....push delete
     
Selections/Select None
15.  Effects/3D Effects/Inner Bevel....Same settings as before.
16.  Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow with the following settings...

Repeat Drop Shadow...
...Change Vertical and Horizontal to -5
17.  Seamless Tile with the following settings...

18.  Send this layer to the bottom and make your top layer active.  Image/Canvas Size at 1700 pixels....or the width you use for your Screen resolution....Height stays the same.  For placement, click on the left middle arrow.
19.  Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow with the following settings...

20.  Merge/Merge Visible...Add your watermark and/or copyright info.
Add new Raster Layer...Send it to the bottom.
  
21.  Selections/Select All...Edit/Paste/Paste into Selection...Your graphic should still be in your clipboard, but if it isn't bring it back up the copy and go to Edit/Copy (you can minimize it again).  Select None.
Adjust/Blur/Gaussian Blur at 20...
      
22.  Effects/Plug-ins/VM Natural - Stardust...with the following settings...

Seamless Tile with the following settings...

23.  Add a new raster layer...Flood fill your new layer with your background color. 
24.  Adjust/Add and Remove Noise....Add Noise with the followings settings:
Gaussian, 10%, Monochrome checked....
In your layer palette...
reduce the opacity between 70 -80
Merge/ All Flatten
To save your image go to File/Export and export the JPEG Optimizer and Optimize at anywhere between 15 and 20 or whichever setting you prefer :)
Assemble in Letter Creator and You are done!! Hope your results were great ones :)
